Hi, I'm Lindsey Pearlman, owner of Sit and Stay, and I'd love for you to know a little
about me and why I do what I do!
I've been crazy about animals since birth; my very first word was "doggie". This love
intensified at the age of sixteen when I was hired by Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter
in Deerfield. Serving the organization for ten amazing years afforded me an education into
dogs and cats that simply cannot be taught. I moved to Chicago after graduating with my degree in Theatre (the other passion), and found the commute to Deerfield a bit exhausting.
I then began walking dogs part time to supplement my most profitable income as an actor. (insert chuckle here.)
The greatest gift I took from Orphans was my adoption of nine-year-old lab mix, Lady. She was everything to me, and the very best for her was never enough! When Lady lost her battle with cancer in 2003, I was absolutely heartbroken...but help was on the way. One evening, I saw a man walking an ancient little Whippet/Lab mix. I fell in love with precious Casey immediately. For almost three years, I was her caretaker when her "dad" needed to travel. It delighted me to be able to provide a safe, happy, fun, relaxed environment for his delicate Casey, and even happier to know he didn't worry one bit when she was in my care. She was treated with the same amount of dedication and love I gave Lady. Casey served as great inspiration for me to build my own service, and in 2006, Sit and Stay was born.
Because of heartfelt, loving, personalized service, Sit and Stay has become a successful venture. The opportunity to expand has come my way, but instead, I have chosen to stay small - clients are family, their pets are our pets, and that is how Sit and Stay will continue
to be.
Sit and Stay is so much more than just a set time, picking up the poop, and going to the next house. It's a service from the heart and dedicated to earning your trust. You'll never worry. I look forward to meeting you!
